Broadly , I am not a major fan of chasing the most recent tech fad because”all of the cool kids are doing it”. Yes, one needs to remain relevant in this very dynamic sector but there’s also the danger of not getting an expert if one keeps following these tendencies. In the case of AWS Certification and cloud computing however, this isn’t a fad, however the new ordinary.
Although I have been using specific AWS-backed services on the job, the amount of my knowledge and expertise with the various AWS services was fairly restricted. I know that Amazon offered a rich ecosystem of storage, calculate, infrastructure and automation technology, so after doing a little research, I determined that the best strategy would be to purse the AWS Solutions Architect (Associate) certification.
Certifications are a controversial topic within it. Some assert that getting a certificate makes you more marketable, but others feel that they could have a negative impact by giving the impression that you are compensating for the lack of expertise. Regardless of where you stand on this matter, my personal experience with certifications in general has been a really positive one during my career. It has definitely opened many doors for me and it set me apart from other candidates.
So why should you pursue AWS certificates?
- AWS is the Leading Standard of The Cloud
AWS is leading the pack in virtually every aspect. According to Gartner, Amazon’s cloud is 10 times larger than its next 14 opponents, combined! This is bad news for the people at Azure and Google Cloud Platform but it is excellent news for you.
Whether you are a web programmer, a database admin, a system admin, an IoT developer, a Big Data adviser, an AI programmer (and the list continues on and on), your life is going to be made much simpler if you take advantage of Amazon’s platform. Their offerings touch virtually every aspect of technology, and talking them are outside the scope of this report. They are continuously adding more offerings and innovating in a way that is leaving the competition in the dust.
2. AWS Certifications are Affordable With Wide Job Opportunities
Unlike other vendors, Amazon provides a realistic certification course that does not need highly specialized (and expensive) training to start. I am not saying it is extremely simple to become certified, however you won’t have to quit your job and pay for costly training to get your first AWS certification.
As of early 2017, AWS provides 3 tiers:
- Associate tier:
Accredited Solutions Architect Associate
Certified Developer Associate
Accredited SysOps Administrator Associate - Professional tier:
Accredited Solutions Architect Professional
DevOps Professional
3. Specialty grade:
Security
Advanced Networking
Big Data
The most frequent strategy is to begin with the Accredited Solutions Architect Associate. It’s an excellent way to get familiar with the AWS ecosystem and core services. You are required to have an associate certificate before you are able to sit for the professional or specialization exams. Furthermore, AWS expects that you possess your Solutions Architect associate certificate before it is possible to take the Solutions Architect specialist exam, or that you have your Developer or SysOps Associate certification before you are able to sit for the DevOps Professional exam.
As far as training, the best source by far is NG Networks. I passed all three associate certifications by relying largely on their excellent courses. Nitin Goswami and the rest of the NG Networks team provide exceptional AWS training in delhi for AWS, Docker, and other cloud technologies and their classes are very affordable and unmatched in quality and content
Self-learners rejoice! With a bit of effort and discipline, you may get rather proficient. Amazon also supplies a free tier account so that you may use most of their services for a year at no cost. The hands-on expertise is vital on your learning journey.
