But he didn’t get a patent as he failed to pay the full amount for completing it. More recently, Mark Zuckerberg, who won fame and minted money as the founder of the social media platform, Facebook, actually stole the idea from his Harvard colleagues, the Winklevoss brothers (Cameron and Tyler), and Divya Narendra. As for Albert Einstein’s famous theory of relativity, it was actually a Dutch physicist, Hendrik Lorentz, and a French mathematician named Henri Poincare, who discovered the basic fundamentals of relativity.
A billion-dollar idea is not easy to come by. It takes real genius, but genius, unfortunately, is in short supply. Hence, it is easier to pilfer ideas and piggyback one’s way to success and wealth. People who steal other people’s ideas are found in every field. You can find them lurking in your college, in the form of a friend who steals your idea for a research paper, or it could be a senior in your company who takes credit for something you did. Such things happen often, and they have been happening since time immemorial.
