The outbreak forced the world to go under a rapid change and has taught us a new way of life.
In the past five months, we all have seen the drastic change in our lives personally and professionally. Now we can’t sit back but need to fight back. Around 30% of the population has been going to the office. With the demand of the time and government orders, offices will be reopening but the case has not been solved yet.
More people joining the office means more precautions. We have got you the essential basic and necessary precaution that needs to be taken. No its is not just the 3 ply face mask and social distancing but many more.
- Cleaning the office
Sounds obvious, right? But getting the office clean once or like prior to the COVID hit will not suffice. Ensure that each and every corner is cleaned and properly disinfected. Checking on all shared vehicles, equipment, desks, and cafeteria is being disinfected after each shift. The doorknobs, hand railing, and even the key holder at your office should be disinfected.
The disinfected spray needs to have 1% of sodium hypochlorite solution. It will reduce the risk of viruses staying on the surface for long. You will have to go for inspection daily in the first months to ensure that it becomes a habit.
- Social Distancing All The Time
As the WHO and national research centers suggest a minimum distance of two feet must be maintained all the time. You may have to ask the staff to rearrange the desk tables for the workers to maintain distance.
Elevators, stairs, and even in the cafeteria the slogan on the importance of distancing has to be put. Conduct online meetings to reduce the risk of transmission.
- Asymptomatic Only
It is better to be aware than to be sorry. We don’t have time to get sick and the lives are at the same level. Enable the screening of body temperature, sanitizer reminders at every hour, and ensuring everyone is going by the rules.
Provide PPE kit at the entrance. If you see anyone sick grant them leave. Pregnant, elderly people and other employees with comorbid situations should be given extra care and ensured about the precautions.
- Flexible Work Hours
Work from home is possible and we have all experienced that. Allow people who are in remote areas not to travel until its urgent. Grant sick leaves, the world is aware of the situations.
It will also make your employee more dedicated and enjoy the work. Eventually, the people in the office will be less and that is what we need, unity though when have to be divided.
- Posters and Reminders
Put up posters about how crucial the health is of each human. Remind everyone about immunity building and hygiene maintenance.
Give a quick check on how hand wash, 3ply face mask and disposable of the face mask is important. A daily update on COVID status should become a part of the standard procedure.
- Staggered shifts
Staggered work hours and tea breaks ensures that there is never a crowd accumulation. It will ensure that all work-related targets are met and the precautions are also being followed.
It gives for the cleanliness staff to get a chance to clean properly and that too by maintaining their 3 play face mask, gloves, and face shield.
- The Staff Safety
Yes, not just your employees but the staff who have been coming daily in the lockdown to serve the company needs your attention. They should be given proper care and insurance for their health. Provide them with proper news and PPE kit so they can also cooperate in maintaining the social distance and stop the limit of COVID-19. Each individual counts.
Closure
Sooner or later the offices are going to open. The world cannot stop functioning. You need to be aware of the safety that you can provide and how to make them more aware of the individual responsibility they should be playing as a good citizen.
The new normal may demand much but it is worth everyone’s time and for a better future.
