The admit cards for the UGC NET exams are normally released a fortnight to ten days before the exam date.
The UGC NET admission cards, on the other hand, can be downloaded from the NTA’s official website at any time between the date of publication and the exam day.
When it comes to the physical aspect or form in which the admit card must be brought to the exam halls, you must have a printed copy of your admit card with you. Details such as your name and application number will be printed on your admission card.
As a result, it is critical that you download and print your UGC NET admit card, as the exam authorities will only accept paper copies of it.
To put things in perspective, the UGC NET admit card will effectively serve as your admission pass to sit your UGC NET exam by certifying your presence in the UGC NET exam hall.

UGC NET Admit Card 2021 Release Date
From November 13th, 2021 forward, admit cards for the 2021 UGC NET Exam (i.e., December 2020 Cycle + June 2021 Cycle combined) have been distributed.
It’s also worth noting that the UGC admit cards for 2021 were released in stages. On November 13, 16, and 25, 2021, the first phase of admit cards, which included majority of the exams, was distributed.
Then, on December 21, 2021, the Phase 2 admit cards for exams such as Bengali, Kannada, Hindi, Sanskrit, and Home Sciences were released.
On the 21st of December 2021, the admit card for the Phase 2 Kannada paper was still not released. Despite the fact that NTA issued an official announcement on the 2nd of January 2022 saying that the Kannada exam will be held on the 4th of January 2022, and that the admission card for the same was also issued on the 4th of January 2022, the Kannada exam was not held.
After that, on December 29, 2021, admit cards for Phase 3 were released for the four subjects (Social Work; Labour Welfare/Personnel Management/IR/Labour and Social Welfare/HRM; Odia, Telugu) of Phase 1 (which were cancelled due to Cyclone Jawad) and two subjects (Geography & Sociology) of Phase 2 (which were cancelled due to cyclone Jawad).

UGC NET 2021 Admit Card — Steps to Download
The methods for downloading the UGC NET admit card are nearly identical every year, therefore we may anticipate that they will be the same in 2022.
Also, you need have a few facts with you before beginning the NTA NET admit card download steps, such as your Application Number and Password. You won’t be able to download your admission card until you have these two items. In case you forget these details, I’ve included instructions for retrieving them in the next section.

The steps to download the UGC NET admit card remains virtually the same every year, so we can assume that the steps will remain the same for the year 2022.
Also, before you get into the NTA NET admit card download steps, you should have a few details with you, i.e., your Application Number and Password. Without these two things, you won’t be able to download your admit card. In case you have forgotten these details, I have mentioned the steps to retrieve them in the next section.
So, here are the steps you’ll have to follow to download Hall Ticket for the UGC NET Examination:
1: Visit the official website: https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/
2: Check for the link ‘UGC NET Admit Card download’ and click on it (the link would be visible only once the admit card is released).
3: You will be redirected to the candidates’ sign-in page.
4: Enter the application number, password, and security pin to log in.
5: Once logged in, you can download the same and take a printout for future reference.
6: You can download/ print your admit card or hall ticket now from the option available on the screen.
That is all there is to the UGC NET admit card download steps, now let us look at the steps to follow in case you forget your application number or Password.
What to do if you forget the Application Number or Password?
If you forget your login credentials, needed to download hall ticket, such as ‘Application No.’ or ‘Password’, you can retrieve them using the process provided below.
Steps to retrieve Application Number:
You should first check your SMS/ Email for the ‘Application Number’ which was sent to you while applying online. If you do not find it there, follow the steps given below to retrieve your UGC NET Application Number.
- 1: Open the Login Window and click on the ‘Forgot Application Number’ link.
- 2: ‘Candidate’s Name’, ‘Fathers Name’, ‘Mothers Name’, ‘Date of Birth’, and ‘Security Pin’.
- 3: Click on the button ‘Get Application Number’. Clicking the button will show you your UGC NET Application Number on the screen.
Steps to retrieve Password:
In the case that you forget your password, the steps to follow are given below:
- 1: Open the Login Window and click on the ‘Forgot Password’ link.
- 2: Choose from the options available to reset the password such as using ‘Security Question & Answer’ or ‘Verification Code through SMS’ or ‘Reset link through Email’
- 3: And Enter the ‘Application Number’, ‘Date of Birth’, and ‘Security Pin’.
- 4: Click on Submit. Next, you can reset your password and set a new one.

UGC NET Admit Card – Error Correction Procedure
There might be chances that you are unable to download the admit card or find a discrepancy in the admit card that you have downloaded pertaining to your preferences and/or the information that you had provided.

UGC NET Admit Card: Documents to Carry
There are several documents you need to carry to the exam center on the day of the examination.
I have listed down the necessary documents below:
- Printed copy of UGC NET Admit Card
- Passport Size Photograph (same as the one printed on your NTA UGC NET Admit Card). You would need to paste the photo on the attendance sheet at the exam centre.
- A Photo ID Proof (options for valid ID proofs are Driving License/Voter ID/PAN Card/Passport/Aadhaar Card/Ration Card/Aadhaar Enrolment No)
- Keep a Xerox copy of your identity proof along with you for the exam.
- PwD Certificate (If Applicable)
