The way to prepare current affairs for BPSC Civil Services Examination. Still, there are some doubts left. And tons of you’re still confused about making notes for current affairs. So during this session, i will be able to tell you ways you’ll take notes for current affairs, this is not the sole thanks to make current affairs notes, but this is often one method which I found work. And this is often the tactic we use to form our current affairs notes for members on the membership platform. With help of this method, we will cover topics which are within the news, and then we can work on backward and forward linkages – the way to

    Make Notes For Current Affairs

For example, India China border dispute is within the news, so for backward linkages find this topic within the standard book and skim that a part of the quality book, and for forwarding, linkages keep space within the margin or make notes online so you’ll update these notes when there’s something within the news in upcoming newspapers magazines and if it’s worth noting down please note that down. So by doing this you’re taking care of both the static part and the dynamic part too. Before the exam, you’ve got concise notes thereon particular issue which covers details.

One of the foremost important things that you simply should understand is that for current affairs it is important to focus on issues, not news, newspapers, or the other sources. For example take the difficulty of India China border dispute again, for the last 2-3 months you will find frequent articles within the newspaper about an equivalent issue, you are doing not need to make a separate note of every and each article. If you’re doing so, before the exam you’ll have n number of notes for an equivalent topic. rather than making notes of each news, make one-page notes for this specific issue, for instance , you’ll make one-page notes for India China Border Dispute, there you’ll start with 2-3 lines about the historical background, You will also write why this subject is within the news. you’ll make a timeline for this specific issue and the way India China Border Issue evolved after independence? you’ll note down what’s the present situation along the border. you’ll jot facts, figures any information which has relevancy for the exam, the timeline just in case of historical, political, and international issues. you’ll update these notes of there’s something new in the news.

    Digital Notes Vs Handwritten Notes

It’s easier to update notes if you’re taking them online or using digital devises, you’ll use note taking applications for taking notes. you’ll use applications like quip, Ever note, notion, but if you’re not comfortable in making digital notes, no problem in the least , you’ll make handwritten notes, it’ll work too, just use shortcuts and keep space within the margin, or maintain a register or make notes in loose A4 sheets.

The entire idea is to try to to what suits your style. Personally, I like hand-written notes because comprehension is best , if you’re tech-savvy you’ll always take digital notes, it’ll save some time , and management of notes becomes easier. There is no one-shot solution. What works for A might not work for B, but there are some points that i might wish to share, never copy-paste lines from the newspaper, first read the article and jot points in your own words, you’ll copy factual data, and figures and check out to make your notes simple language, which may be understood by layman, attempt to summaries paragraphs during a line in your own words.

You can also follow HAUSPIE Model while making notes, attempt to cover historical, economical, geographical, social, political, international, and environmental angles, you’ll cover issues comprehensively and holistically. Moreover, it becomes easier to recall these points if there is a pattern. you’ll recall the knowledge because you ask yourself logical questions and you discover out the solution .

For instance , you’ll ask what’s the historical background of India and China relations? what’s the geography behind the disputes? Is China’s infrastructure in Tibet creating ecological imbalance, what’s the impact of border disputes between the economy and trade between the countries? What other countries are having their stakes during this dispute? and eventually what’s the answer and way forward, find out what experts need to say about these disputes, quote them in your notes.

If you inculcate these points in your notes, you’ll recall this information when there is a question within the exam, and if you write these many points your answer are going to be more complete, for mains this method will surely assist you . Just take any issue and divide that issue into subtopics generally these are subparts of any issue counting on the topic of the difficulty , subparts are often historical background, factual content pros and cons current status why in news, what are opportunities and benefits, Challenges in various sectors- politically, economically and socially Conclusion.

Background Historical, Definition, Data, Facts, Reports, SC Judgments Why in News – Event, report, trigger point, a scheme launched, PM Visit, etc. Pros and Cons – Analyze, critically analyze, advantages, drawbacks, significance, another side of the difficulty , argument and counter-arguments, judgments, opinions of experts, statements from any govt report, HAUSPIE Model, Conclusion or Way Forward: Practical solution, conclusion, way forward, what are often done, progressive steps, inclusiveness, positiveness, etc. While making notes you’re also doing answer writing practice. So takeaways from this session are

    • Make digital notes or handwritten notes, there is no hard and fast rule, do what suits you most
    • don’t target each and each news, articles, target issues
    • don’t copy-paste lines because it is from the first source, attempt to summarise paragraphs
      in your own words
    • Make note of 250-300 words on each issue and revise it again and again, for forwarding linkages update notes with newspapers and magazines for backward linkages read that topic from the quality book, by doing this you are taking care of both static also as a dynamic part
    • Follow HIEGSPIE Model and provides a holistic and comprehensive look to your notes
    • write definition, facts, figures, reports, SC judgments, events, timelines, pros, cons, expert opinion, a quote from government documents, a quote from significant personalities, way forward, conclusion, practical solution counting on the topic of the difficulty .
    • determine a minimum of 50-100 issues for every subject and make 250-300 words one page notes for every issue, albeit you target one issue per day, after a year you’ll have around 350 issues, and for mains i do not think anything can come beyond this, for prelims the equation slightly changes and it’s even easier than this i will be able to make a fanatical video for that, so stay tuned.

As of now, I can recall these many points, there are 3 more videos which I made on how to prepare current affairs, the way to read The Hindu, and the way to form Notes for current affairs, I am sure after watching this you’ll gain more insights on current affairs preparation, link are going to be within the description below if you would like I can compile that in one video. If I find any longer relevant information i will be able to provide you updated version of current affairs preparation, as of now this is often all from my side, all the simplest , had best if you’ve got any query invite the comment section.
