How to Attempt MPPSC Prelims 2021 Question Paper?

The Public Service Commission exams are the most popular job exams across the nation. One such exam is the MPPSC Prelims exam. MPPSC is short for Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission. This exam is just like the other state Public Service Commission held all over India. It is conducted to recruit employees for government offices and departments. This recruitment exam is held in two parts the preliminary and mains exam. But, in this article let’s talk about how you should attempt the MPPSC 2021 prelims exam.

The MPPSC prelims exam is scheduled for 25th July 2021 and mainly follows the IAS exam pattern. If you clear the prelims exam only then you will be allowed to appear for the mains exam. After clearing the main exam, you will be called for an interview and cracking the interview will get you recruited to a different post of various government departments.

If you follow the exam pattern of the previous year and maintain the right strategy you will easily crack the MPPSC prelims exam and land yourself an amazing job. The preliminary exam question paper is quite easy. But, the high cut off of this exam creates competition. If you are a general category student you must get 85 out of 100 questions correct.

What To Expect from the MPPSC 2021 Question Paper?

If you are appearing for a Public Commission service exam for the first time, you must make it a point to study for at least 4 to 5 hours a day. You will be facing questions from different aspects and fields including Bare Acts, Polity, General Knowledge, Indian Economy, Current Affairs. other than this you must keep an eye on newspapers, last year’s question paper, Pratiyogita Darpan and magazines to prepare yourself for this exam.

The Bare Acts section comprises of Civil Rights act, SC-ST Prevention act and much more. the General Knowledge section consists of information on the dams, sanctuaries, rivers, national parks, historical places, political scenarios, tribes, folk songs, culture, fairs, sports, Vojana of MP govt and much more.

What Is the Recent Syllabus for MPPSC Preliminary Exam?

But before you start with the preparation for this exam you must know what is its syllabus. Well, the MPPSC preliminary exam has two papers –

  • Paper 1 – General Studies
  • Paper 2 – General Aptitude

General Studies – General science and environment, current events of national & international importance, history of India and Independent India, the geography of India & general geographical awareness of the world, Indian polity and economy, sports, geography history, the culture of Madhya Pradesh, information and communication technology, SC & ST Prevention Atrocities, 1989 No. 33, Protection of Civil Rights and the protection of Human Rights Act, 1993.

General Aptitude Test – Comprehension, interpersonal skill including communication skill, general mental ability, decision making and problem-solving, logical reasoning and analytical ability, basic numeracy, data interpretation and Hindi language comprehension skill.

Strategy To Attempt MPPSC Prelims Question Paper

Before we jump into how you should be attempting the MPPSC 2021 exam question paper let’s understand the pattern of the question. You will be shortlisted for the Mains only after you crack the preliminary exam successfully. Here is the exam pattern of the prelims –

Paper 1 – General Studies

  • Marks – 200
  • Number of Questions – 100
  • Time – 2 Hours

Paper 2 – General Aptitude

  • Marks – 200
  • Number of Questions – 100
  • Time – 2 Hours

You need to score around 40% in your prelims question paper if you are a general candidate and want to get qualified for the mains. For SC/ST/OBC candidates the cut off is 30%.

Paper 1 – General Studies

The paper 1 question paper comprises MCQs from the whole syllabus. For each question, you will be given four options from which you will have to choose the right one. You can start with MPPSC preparation online.

This covers issues including everyday science; thus, you can attempt this section in the beginning.

You can attempt to answer the question when you feel right.

  • Polity & Economy of MP

Your question paper might have multiple numbers of questions from this aspect, attempt it according to how you are prepared.

  • Information & Communication Technology

Attempt this section right away if you have prepared well for it.

  • SC & ST Prevention Atrocities 1989 and Protection of Civil Rights Act, 1955

This is an interesting section and the right amount of preparation can help you attempt questions from this section right away.

  • The Protection of Human Rights Act, 1993

You should prepare for this part well to attempt it.

Paper 2 – General Aptitude

  • Comprehension

This is an easy section and you can attempt it when you get to it.

  • Interpersonal Skill Including Communication Skill

This section can be easily answered in one go.

  • Logical Reasoning & Analytical Ability

This can be a hard section hence you can keep it at bay to answer later.

  • Decision Making and Problem Solving

This too can be tough for some thus you can solve it later.

  • General Mental Ability

You can answer it according to your preparation level.

  • Basic Numeracy & Data Interpretation

This can be difficult for some hence you can keep it to solve later.

  • Hindi Language Comprehension Skill

It is of class ten level and you can answer it right away.

How you will be attempting the question paper will be completely up to your preparation and the questions that seem easy for you. Attempt the ones you are sure about at first, then go for the ones that are of intermediatory level for you and keep the ones that will need some effort for the last. This will ensure that you are not wasting your time from the very beginning. Wasting time on the hard ones can even make you miss the ones you could answer in a blink. Hence, do not go for the tough ones in the beginning and know how to prepare for MPPSC.
