At the very top of the U.S. passport application, applicants are presented with several options. One, you can choose to use one form to apply for a passport book, passport card, or both. This book is required for all air travel and the card can only be used for land and sea travel in Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Within the same space, applicants can choose to obtain a 28-page passport or a 52-page passport. A big book is only needed if you travel a lot.
Another variation that significantly reduces errors when printing applicant names on passports is entering spaces for middle and last names. In previous applications, there was a series of boxes in which applicants had to enter two names. Problems are often caused by applicants with multiple middle or hyphenated last names.
A second address line has been Regional Passport Review added to the new application. This space is reserved for apartments, suites, units, buildings or floor numbers, etc. If the passport will be sent to someone other than the applicant, please add “In Care of” and the person’s name here.
To better identify the area to be filled by the passport agent, the entire section has a white background, while the section to be filled by the applicant has an orange background. The old app confused many who thought they needed to fill out this part of the form.
There are other changes that seem less important, such as adding the applicant’s current or most recent spouse’s date of birth and removing the word “optional” in relation to the applicant’s email address.

How to complete the application for a new passport
Applicants can choose to complete the application online or print the form and complete it offline. If filling out offline, please use black or blue ink. write clearly. If the person processing the form has difficulty reading your text, it can lead to errors in your passport.
Answer as many questions as possible. If you don’t know the answer, you can leave the question blank. In some cases, this can cause delays. Never misrepresent. Doing so knowingly and voluntarily upon request is punishable by fines and/or imprisonment.
The data requested on the application form includes personal information, travel plans, and previous passport information. The personal information you may be asked to provide may include your full name, date, and place of birth, gender, mailing address, email address, phone number, other names used, height, hair color, eye color, occupation, employer, or school, permanent address including emergency contacts.
If you already have travel plans, you will need to provide the travel dates, travel duration, and a list of countries you plan to visit. You can leave this section blank if you have no travel plans. People usually apply for a passport without a specific travel date.
The last two questions ask if you have ever applied for or obtained a U.S. passport book or U.S. passport card. If so, you are asked to enter your name, number, date of issue, or the passport you are applying for and it’s status.
It is not difficult to complete a US passport application. You need to allocate some time to get it done. The estimated load for this form is 85 minutes. Few applicants will take so much time to complete it.
Please note that the application must be signed in the presence of an authorized agent. Bring the completed but unsigned form and all supporting documents to the nearest passport office. The agent will review everything, take an oath and witness the signing of the application. If all goes well, you will receive your new passport within 4 to 6 weeks. You can also request expedited service and receive it within 3 weeks. To expedite processing, you must submit your application to a regional agency or through an authorized accelerator.

Apps are rapidly changing the way we travel. However, if you plan to go abroad, you will still need something “traditional”. Always make sure you have a valid passport and have your visa arranged before you leave home. How to Order a Fast Track Child Passport
There are multiple ways to order an expedited child passport. This can be done through regional government passport agencies or through specialized online passport companies. First, it’s important to know that all children planning to travel abroad need a U.S. passport. The application must be completed, including all necessary documents and passport photos of the child.
If you’re applying for an expedited passport through a government agency, there are a few places you can go.
