    8 Best Ways to Get Stains Out from All Type of Carpets

    Who doesn’t want a nice clean carpet at home? The main problem is that carpets are difficult to clean. But unfortunately, carpets get stained, it’s just a part of life.
    Removing pet smells from your carpets can be a difficult task and it is safe to say that having pet odor in your home can surely be very unwelcoming as well as stressful. And if you are tired from trying to find out the best, then there is no need to worry because we have just the thing for you to help you remove pet odor from your carpets all by yourself.
    All you have to do is follow the tips and tricks that we are sharing with you and make sure that you do each and every one of them in the proper way. After all, who does not want a carpet that not only smells fresh but also makes you want to spend more time there just because of how crisp and cleans the environment feels.

    Locate where the smell is actually coming from

    More often than not there is always a place from which odor generates. It can be your pet’s sleeping bed, a couch that your pet might have urinated on or even a carpet. And it is important to know where the smell is coming from so that you can start by treating that place to not only save up on your time but also on your energy. And once you have located the exact position, then you can get on with deciding which method to use to make sure that all the smell goes away.

    But don’t worry here are some tips with which you can easily remove any kind of stains.

    1. Identify the type of stain in carpet:

     The best way to remove stain from carpet is to know what was spilled or what kind of stain it is. This will help you to find the right cleaner for your carpet. Stains can be:

    Water-soluble stains:

    Such stains are easy to remove from the carpet. After removing any solid piece you can simply clean the stain with water. If the stain is old, mix the warm water with few drops of dish soap and blot again. Make sure to rinse out the soap with clean water.  

    Water-soluble stains include wine, soda, latex paint, fruits, and jelly. 

    Non-soluble stains:

    Non-water-soluble stains are difficult to remove. You need to hire professional carpet cleaning services to remove them. These stains include cooking grease, lipstick, and petroleum jelly. 

    2. Remove wine and other water-soluble stains:

    Are you hosting a party that involves relaxing with a glass of wine? Be aware because your carpet is in danger! red wine stains are nearly impossible to come off. Don’t worry try out this method: 

    • Getting as much liquid and solid out of the carpet quickly is an important part of removing stains. But scooping the stain can dive it inside the carpet.
    • For removing such stains vacuum up the spill. 
    • After vacuuming apply hydrogen peroxide and vinegar solution to the stain. This solution helps to remove stubborn stains. 
    • Blot the stain with a clean cloth. The cloth will soak up the stain by moving carpet fibers. Avoid scrubbing the carpet it will damage the carpet fibers. 
    • Rinse the stained area multiple times.
    • Vacuum the rinse water. 

    If stains are stubborn and do not come out with this technique, hire professional carpet cleaning services. 

    3. Remove coffee and tough water-soluble stains:

    Did you just spill your coffee on the carpet? Here is some help for you:

    • Blot as much coffee as possible with a dry cloth.
    • Mix a tablespoon of ammonia with one cup of warm water. 
    • Apply this mixture to the stain.
    • Avoid this ammonia mixture if your carpet is wool blended carpet, instead use gentle cleansers. 
    • Rinse the residue with cool water and dry it with a clean dry cloth. 

    Tough water-soluble stains include blood, mustard, chocolate, tea, and vomit. If these stains do not come out with the use of ammonia, use bleach instead. 

    4. Removing blood and urine stains from carpet:

    If the stain is dry, scrape the surface with a steel brush to clean the stain. While it will not completely remove the stain, but it will make it easier to get at it with further steps. 

    • Soak up blood or urine stains with the use of a dry cloth.
    • Take a cup of water and white vinegar and mix them.
    • Blot the stain with solution.
    • Apply the mild solution to the stain if your carpet is woolen.
    • Rinse the soap out and blot dry.
    1. Removing dirt and mud from carpet:

    Mud stains are the most common stains. You can get rid of such stains by:

    • Remove mud or dust from your carpet.
    • Avoid rubbing with a cloth or towel as it only deepens the stain.
    • Vacuuming the area several times until dust is picked up.
    • Apply a solution of lukewarm water and dish soap.
    • Blot over the stain as needed.
    • Let the carpet dry completely. Keep your pet away, so they don’t make them dirty again.
    1. Common stains:

    Glue:

    • Apply rubbing alcohol to a cotton ball and press it on the affected area.
    • When the glue residue is moistened, wipe it off gently.  

    Nail polish:

    Use nail polish remover or rubbing alcohol to remove nail polish stains from the carpet.

    Gum:

    • Rub ice on the gum to freeze it.
    • Then shatter it with a blunt object such as a butter knife.
    • Before the piece softens vacuum it up.
    • Blot carpet with a clean cloth. 
    1. Removing greasy and oily stains from carpet:

    Whether it is peanut butter or mayonnaise oily stains can ruin your carpet if they are not treated well. Such stains are hard to deal with as they are non-water-soluble and can not remove by water. To remove such stubborn stains, you will need:

    • Remove any excess oil by gently scraping it with a butter knife.
    • Sprinkle the baking soda to the stain and let it sit to absorb grease.
    • Vacuuming the area 
    • Mix 2 cups of warm water with detergent and apply on stain.
    • Rub the stain with a bristle brush.
    • Rinse the area with a clean cloth and blot dry.

    Oil and fat stains are hard to remove completely. For such a situation hire professional carpet cleaning services for help. 

    1. Removing old stains from carpet:

    Carpet stains are unpleasing and tough to remove. But no stain causes as much trouble as dry old stains. It’s tough to tell the cause of such stains and how would you know which carpet cleaner to use? All you have to do is:

    • Identify the stain you are dealing with. Whether it is a water-soluble or non-soluble stain. 
    • Spray cool water on the dried stain.
    • Let the stain be hydrated for 20 minutes.
    • Mix equal parts of vinegar, dish liquid, and water. 
    • For tougher soluble stains use hydrogen peroxide as well.
    • Apply the solution to the stain and gently rub with a clean cloth.
    • If stain is still visible rehydrate it and repeat the procedure until the stain is completely removed. 
    • Use a dry cloth to absorb any moisture.
    • Hire cleaning services if you can not remove the stain properly. 

    Even if you don’t have any mishaps, you should always have a clean carpet. There are many professional carpet cleaning services to clean your carpet. Make sure to thoroughly clean your carpet every year. This will increase the age of your carpet and make it pleasingly clean.
