    You may surely be very excited about the arrival of your little one. During pregnancy, you have the duty and responsibility to take all the necessary steps for the health and well-being of your unborn child. Even a minor mistake at this time can result in long-term loss and damage. One thing that should be kept in mind is that during this time, all your actions will have a direct impact on your baby so make sure that you avoid all those things which can harm your unborn child, so you need to know Pregnancy Do’s and Don’ts.

    It’s good to learn about the actions which you should take and the things which you should refrain from throughout pregnancy. This article will provide you with significant information about the Pregnancy Do’s and Don’ts

    Do’s of Pregnancy

    Some of the do’s of pregnancy are as follows: –

    ·         Do Take Your Prenatal Vitamins

    Prenatal vitamins contain good amounts of nutrients that are required by pregnant women, including, iron. Folic acid, Vitamin D, and calcium are required for the healthy development of the baby. These multivitamins also eliminate the risks of birth defects. Omega-3 fatty acids are an important constituent of some prenatal vitamins which aid in the healthy brain development of the child.

    ·         Do Get Plenty of Sleep

    During pregnancy, you are experiencing numerous bodily changes. Due to this, you feel tired and exhausted. Try to get plenty of sleep. About seven to nine hours of night sleep will help you feel better. If possible, try to take small naps during the daytime as well.

    ·         Do Consume Healthy Foods

    Boost up your energy level by the consumption of a well-balanced and nutritious diet. Include fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your diet plan to get good quantities of all essential nutrients. Also, take foods rich in calcium and protein. A well-balanced diet will be beneficial for you as well as your baby. Having healthy food is much essential during pregnancy. However, you need to have healthy foods that can keep you healthy as well as ensure giving birth to a healthy baby.

    ·         Do Stay Hydrated

    Staying hydrated gives your body the strength to fight off various diseases.  Drinking lots of water will help you get rid of constipation, headaches, hemorrhoids, etc. By staying hydrated, you’ll also feel fresh and healthy. Having enough water is one of the pre-condition to stay healthy. However, during pregnancy, you should drink enough water to avoid hydrated.

    Don’ts of Pregnancy

    Some of the important Don’ts of Pregnancy are mentioned below: –

    ·         Don’t Consume Too Much Caffeine

    High quantities of caffeine are extremely harmful to the unborn child. Caffeine increases the likelihood of birth defects and stillbirth. It raises the heart rate of the baby. Besides, they also have harmful effects on the nervous system. Hence, pregnant women should avoid the consumption of colas, tea, coffee, and other rich sources of caffeine.

    ·         Don’t Smoke

    Smoking also has harmful effects on the baby. It increases the risk of lower birth weight. The children of a smoking mother (those who smoke during pregnancy) have an increased likelihood of learning disability. Such children also become addicted to smoking early in life. Hence, prospective moms should avoid smoking during pregnancy. If you are working as a surrogate mother or leihmütter, you might avoid all kinds of bad habits.

    ·         Don’t Consume Raw Meat

    The consumption of raw or undercooked meat can result in severe, fatal illnesses during pregnancy which can lead to stillbirth and birth defects. It also raises the likelihood of food-borne illnesses like toxoplasmosis and wisterias is. Therefore, moms-to-be should avoid undercooked and raw meat and eggs. Whether you have a pregnancy you might follow the appropriate guidelines from the medical expert and avoid all the raw foods that may cause food poisoning.

    ·         Don’t Consume Unpasteurized Dairy Products

    Although calcium is an important nutrient for babies the consumption of unpasteurized dairy products is not safe at all for pregnant women. Raw milk is harmful to expecting women because it has not been pasteurized and it may contain bacteria which can lead to illness. The main bacteria present in raw milk is Wisteria which can cause miscarriage or illness. It can also be seriously life-threatening. Hence, consume pasteurized dairy products and avoid raw or unpasteurized ones.

    Being pregnant puts on you huge responsibility, i.e., the care of an unborn baby. You have to take each step consciously and carefully. Make sure that you follow all the instructions given by the doctor. You should refrain from all the actions which can be harmful to your baby. By adopting a healthy lifestyle and by avoiding harmful habits during pregnancy, you can save yourself as well as your baby from any type of complications.
