Today’s Social Media has become a frenzy where you’d want to be the first to post. Well, if you want, so does everyone else. So, how do you stay ahead in the game? The answer may surprise you. Make a Social Media Calendar. Yes, it’s that simple. When you have a years’ worth of schedule lined up, creating content related to an event becomes easy. Your social media pipeline flows smoothly, which results in better content and less stress.  But what about content that isn’t predictable you say. Having a Calendar can also help you with that. See when you already have an even calendar organized, making room for an unpredictable or a surprise event becomes easy. Thus, enabling you to push your regular content forward or backward.

Want to get your content organized for 2021. You could try searching for social media marketing services in The UK to find social media marketers near you. Or you could benefit from our step-by-step guide below to effectively organize your Social Media Calendar.

    1. Self-audit your social media content and networks. This will help you identify your areas for improvements, new opportunities, and your audience. If you are working in teams, assign roles. This way you may know who’s responsible for what.
    2. Pick and choose your social media platforms. The key tip here, having your presence on a few platforms, and posting regularly is better than having your presence on every platform and not posting regularly. Understand your content your target audience and their demographics. “They are on TikTok”, should not be enough reason to switch on a social media platform.
    3. Plan what data needs to be tracked on your calendar. This is particularly important in identifying your events. It can include International, national, organizational, company, or personal events. Then you’ll have to elaborate on the calendar what your posts will cover. Will it be a written post, an audio or visual post, or an animated one, and what platforms will I be posted to.
    4. Create a content library for your resources. Now you’ve marked your calendar with the appropriate posts and their type. So, before you go starting to search for content on the internet, it is better to have a content library in advance. Save your images, videos, and GIFs in proper folders on your computer or your company’s network, not on your phone.
    5. Create a roadmap. Knowing when to post is important, but so is where to post. The frequency of your content should differ from different platforms. Tweets have a word count limit, TikTok only allows video content, Instagram does not allow for URL’s to be copied, etc. Plan which of your content should go where keeping in mind your target audience.
    6. Start creating your posts. Now that you have marked your calendars, start anywhere you like. Having content to publish in advance is always good. If you are fixated on getting something done now, do it. Save it for later and edit when you need to post.
    7. Finally, start publishing and make sure you follow your Social Media Calendar for 2021.
