Soap nuts are an amazing natural moisturizer and cleanser. They have been used in Africa for hundreds of years and are still popular as effective soaps and body washes. I first discovered soap nut oils when I was looking for a natural skin care product to help prevent acne. I was very interested to find out how they could help me look younger while reducing acne inflammation. The soap nuts have some great ingredients including linoleic acid, essential fatty acids, aloe vera, vitamins B and C and minerals like zinc and magnesium. They are also great for soothing redness and irritation.

Some of the most common soap nuts used include:

    Maracuja:

This soap is a natural emollient and moisturizer. It also contains natural vitamin E. It has a slight coconut flavor, which makes it great for those with nut allergies. This soap offers multiple benefits for your skin. Babassu. This soap uses the native Babassu palm to make a very lightweight wax. Macadamia:

Macadamia is an excellent moisturizer and it also helps to keep your skin soft and supple. It is one of the soap nuts with the most outstanding skin benefits. It can be used on a regular basis to help prevent dry skin and to protect your skin from environmental irritants.

    Oils:

A great benefit of all natural, organic oils is that they are easily absorbed into your skin. They offer numerous benefits such as healing of deep wounds and skin abrasions. You can use oils topically to treat a rash, relieve itching and burning, and/or as a massage oil. If you are using essential oils, make sure they are not irritating to sensitive skin. Essential oils can also be used as a fragrance in soap.

    Coconut Oil:

This oil is moisturizing and helps repair damaged skin. Many soaps have coconut oil added to them, because of it’s ability to deeply moisturize the skin and it’s ability to prevent the formation of wrinkles.

    Essential Oils:

These can be used as a soap or as a massage oil. They are made from several essential oils such as rose hip seed, jojoba, olive, and others. These essential oils can be used in their pure state or you can choose to add fragrance to them to create a luxurious, luscious soap that will leave your skin soft and glowing.
