Tooth Reattachment
If the piece that came off your tooth is large enough and you’ve managed to save it, your dentist can reattach that piece to your broken tooth.
Just make sure you place the fragment in some milk (it’ll be preserved by the calcium in the milk). If you don’t have any on hand, put it in your gums, being careful not to swallow it.
In either case, make sure you see your dentist ASAP. The longer you wait, the more your tooth fragment will decay and die.
Veneers
Veneers are a type of cosmetic dentistry used to make your teeth more uniform and aesthetically pleasing. It’s basically a thin porcelain shell that goes over your tooth!
This dental cap won’t repair your natural tooth, but it’ll give off the appearance of healthy and whole teeth.
Your dentist will need to take an impression of your tooth to make a well-fitting veneer. The veneer and your tooth is then bonded so you can eat, speak, and smile normally.
Root Canal and Filling/Dental Crown
For those of you who’ve done significant damage to your tooth, you might need a root canal and dental crown/filling.
During the root canal procedure, your dentist will remove any pulp that’s infected. They’ll then clean and sanitize inside your tooth, then seal it with gutta-percha.
Once that’s done, they’ll either put a filling or dental crown on top, depending on the extent of the damage.
