Dress to impress, dress to success. We have heard this a hundred times already. Clothes can make or break a person. When a person is not properly dressed for the occasion, everyone notices. So what do you do then? You don’t need to shop for designer labels because it’s not the key to having a good style as the best dress for you. Remember, even the famously rich have fashion blunders even if they wear thousand-dollar dresses!

The first thing to remember is to be confident. Even if you have the best irish kilt dress for you to complement your features or even if you have the body of a bombshell and the face of an angel if you don’t have confidence you’ll be nothing more than a plain Jane. If you’re unsure what you should go for, go for classic cuts. Ask your friends (whom you know have good fashion style) for tips on what you can wear.

Have outfits for every occasion. Have that special Sunday dress, an outfit for formal events (like that little black dress that makes you feel like million bucks), an outfit to the gym, etc. The point is to invest in the best dress for you that you can use over and over again.

Choose the color that compliments your skin. Of course, it’s okay to wear bright colors but if you’re dark-skinned, please don’t wear neon? Pastel colors are best for tanned people and bright colors complement those who are pale.

Go for comfort when choosing the best dress for you. You know that your killer heels will make you look oh-so-stunning but do you think it’s worth it if you have calluses and blisters after wearing them for 8 hours? We all have to make sacrifices when we want to look good but there are times when we go overboard.

Unleash your inner style. Accentuate your pieces by putting on accessories. You don’t have to go shopping every week for new outfits. Just make do of what you have. Learn to mix and match and you’ll have endless possibilities.

In every season there are new trends of kilt fashion that sometimes spring up like wildflowers and at other times come back from hibernation. From bold colors to crop tops, this Summer we are veering away from traditional rules of matchmaking in fashion and trying on a bolder approach of blending different styles, colors, and patterns. Color blocking, crop tops, and maxi skirts are the three major trends that seem to be dominating the fashion scene this summer.

    Color Blocking
Bold colors like turquoise, magenta, yellows, and plums are upstaging all other colors on the color wheel. This season, women are encouraged to match colors like plum and tangerine, blue and yellow, turquoise and fuchsia. All over the Runways these color pallets and combinations are uplifting and energizing. One thing to consider with this trend is the extra looks and gazes that will surely come your way, so make sure you’re ready for the attention. Perhaps what was seen before as clashing now is erupting with a new kind of popularity. If you want to veer away from solids, there are many patterns that you can choose from that are embodying this color palette. If you tend to be a pair shape (smaller on top with a wider bottom half), try pairing a bright-colored, patterned top with a darker, solid bottom for a balanced and fashionable look.

    Crop Tops
These belly-bearing tops have been taking over the summer kilt fashion. Yves Saint Laurent, Rodarte, and Salvatore Ferragamo have all featured crop tops paired with maxi skirts or pantsuits on their runways. Go for bold colors like magenta, orange, green, and blues. If you’ve never worn a crop top before, I encourage you to try this style; you might be surprised by the result.

    Maxi Skirts
Long, flowy skirts are a fresh breath from the maxi dresses. Still sexy and alluring these skirts have an endless pairing variety factor. Color block a maxi skirt with a crop top for a fashionable and fun outfit. There are many styles of maxi skirts, so you’ll be sure to find a type that fits your personality and still allows you to be in on the trend. Kate Bosworth, Mary Kate, and Anne Hathaway are just some of the few Hollywood starlets that are embracing these summer trends.
