If you are like many people, you toss your plastics and glass into the recycling bin every couple days. There are, however, many other ways you can recycle. Read on for some suggestions.
Paper and Ink
If you don’t already buy recycled paper for your printer, consider doing so. Then be sure to print on both sides of each sheet as much as possible. Also, buy ink or toner cartridges that are remanufactured, or learn how to refill your own cartridges and use them multiple times. When you’re finished with your cartridges, recycle them through mail-in programs from manufacturers or drop-off programs at office supply stores.
Appliances

An old headboard and footboard from a bed, for instance, can be transformed into a cozy bench. An outdated armoire might become a useful pantry. A plain dresser could end up a kitchen island or even a chair and ottoman set. The possibilities are endless. With some time and creativity, you can keep your old furniture out of the landfill and give it new life in your home.
