We have repurposed ourselves, and our new motto is this until the pandemic is over:

For starters, it catches the eye on the first glimpse. However, words don’t guarantee action. We are here to know some of our efforts we have materialized during the run to help the corona-affected people and regions. The difficulties that arise are mainly due to the prolonged lockdown in effect.
In fact, there are only a few COVID-19 relief cells working in the country; we can count them on our fingertips. When such is the case, Selly acts as the bearer of light to lead us out of this dark night.
Let’s get down to the basics and what we have been up to in the last few months.
1. Activating Selly.pk as a Covid-19 Relief Cell
The first step we took was to reactivate the previous e-commerce portal that we all knew as Selly.pk and include a page coronakoharanahai.selly.pk as our flag-bearer until this crisis is over. There is good news coming from the government’s side with the ease in lockdown that the nightmare is about to be over. It is, gradually, going to lift lockdown from different segments of Pakistan, continue doing that until the country is fully reopened.
When we see a COVID-19 relieve cell-like Selly.pk in action, we immediately think of the food and essential supplies to sustain life. That is exactly what it is!
It is a coordinated effort of a private company to collect donations, volunteers, and find out areas in need of help. The portal accepts your generous donations and replies to you with a thank you note in an email. No matter, how little the amount is, it is the intention that counts; so, donate as much as you can to participate in this good cause.
2. In Collaboration with Non-Governmental Organizations
When such a good deed has to take place, it is even better to make it happen with reliable friends around. For that, we are in collaboration with organizations like Justajoo, Banyan, Akhuwat, and Ehsaas to ensure your donations don’t fall into the wrong hands. We made a partner page especially for them. They are helping on the ground reaching out to individuals and groups with ration, medicine, and clean water on a massive scale.
Why is their legitimacy not questionable?
Because of their past performances in such situations, thus, bringing forth disaster management skills to the table. For instance, organizations such as Akhuwat have been part of relief efforts of variable magnitudes, thus becoming a nationwide brand of charity. Similarly, Ehsaas follows the path that leads to the doors of the needy on any given day.
If that is the case with our affiliated partners, how can we strike out Selly from the list of organizations who are passionate to help the helpless?
3. From Online Groceries to Charity
It is highly likely for an eCommerce store operating on a city-wide level to activate a COVID-19 relief cell when the country needs it. We wanted to come to the rescue of the downtrodden class, who are the most vulnerable and who suffer the most in case of a disaster. Coronavirus pandemic appears to be as big as a disaster as hurricanes or earthquakes, even bigger for countries like the United States, where the death toll is in many thousands.
Selly wanted to start the corona pandemic relief program for many reasons. First, it was the need of the hour; second, it was a call of the conscience to help those in need; third, the sufferers wanted more than just one ray of hope; and forth, someone had to look in the eye of coronavirus and say, ‘that’s enough’.
However, those are just words put together as we still don’t have a viable vaccine against the virus. But to remain hopeful is what we do and we ask of others. Believe in Allah as He alone can get us out of the worst situations with just a single command; He can take us to safety in no time.
